TRAFFIC/TRANSIT TODAY: Soggy Thursday watch

(SDOT MAP with travel times/ Is the ‘low bridge’ closed? LOOK HERE/ West Seattle-relevant traffic cams HERE)

7:17 AM: Good morning! No incidents reported in our area so far.

METRO TODAY: Again today, buses are on “reduced weekday” service.

9:38 AM: Getting downtown right now is close to impossible. We are trying to get to a City Hall briefing on Viaduct-to-Tunnel mobility and are stuck on the 4th Avenue S. exit ramp, just discovering the “rescue extrication” call that’s blocking 4th at Spokane.

Is there some sort of fire near the dump/Shell station on 1st Ave S? I work close by and when I parked and got out of my car the smell of burning plastic or another substance was so strong it was burning my throat and lungs on the short walk to my office!

Accident on 1st ave bridge northbound just past the Michigan exit backed up to HP Way entrance. Two fire and one ambulance just arriving around 9:45 car and semi truck appear involved could be a bit.

Yeah, it’s pretty much “just don’t leave” mode right now. We managed to head south on 4th to where we could cut over to 1st and are now back on our way to City Hall. Hope the parking lot across the street on 4th hasn’t been redeveloped since last time we were down here a few months ago.

Sorry, comment time is over.
