Back to school … for babies and their grownups!

It’s a big week for school-age kids and their families. But if you have a baby in the family – this invitation is for you! The photo and announcement are from Becky Huntley:

Babies, babies, babies! Bring your parent (or grandparent) to our Parent-Infant class. You will find fun things to explore (or examine!), bubbles, stories and music time. Your grownup will find other adults to talk with … and a professional parent educator to answer questions, offer support and the latest information about child development and guidance. We meet Wednesdays from 12:30 to 2:30 on the South Seattle College campus beginning Sept 12. Contact Becky at huntleybecky (at) gmail (dot) com for information – and see our website at www.westseattlepreschools.org

SSC, if you’re not already aware, is in West Seattle – 6000 16th SW on Puget Ridge.

Such a wonderful program! Becky was my first introduction to the program and she is terrific! We spent nine years in co-op and made so many friends.

Oh my gosh – how precious!  This program is the BEST –  I did 7 years of co-op with my two children – now they are starting 5th and 8th grades … sniff.

Oh my, we started in the baby group at the college over twenty-five years ago, and I have been a co-op fan every since.  I love this program and the duel support I gained  from having both a teacher and parent educator in the classroom,  plus the community of other parents going through the same experience.   I not only grew as a parent, but made friends for life!

I honestly don’t know what I would do without co-op parent educators and the community of teachers and other parents going through this same phase of life. It’s a weekly dose of sanity, fun, and upping my skills and patience as a parent.
