‘Scenes of violence’ response on Harbor Ave, quickly canceled

12:39 AM: Now there’s another “scenes of violence” callout, this time in the 2800 block of Harbor SW. Details to come.

12:45 AM: The call has closed.

ADDED: As noted in comments, this may be related to the later Harbor Avenue standoff after all. We hope to be able to check on that with police after the standoff is over.

What a night. It’s crazy out there.

I’m sorry not to know what led to this – while Patrick was at the High Point scene, our visiting son and I had driven through that block of Harbor literally minutes before the call was dispatched – no signs of anything happening – we turned around and went back and by then the call had closed, which explains why we didn’t see anything.

Plenty of police at the old Sea-Way Marine site this morning…

I went down to check  as well and got there just in time to se one SPD unit turn off its lights and pull out of the parking lot on the south side of the 7-11.

A bit of radio traffic hints the standoff might involve the person whose injuries, NOT from an attack after all, led to this short-lived callout – we’ll try to confirm that later.

It’s tough to be sure. But the man in your photo at the top of your 12pm report does resemble the same man I saw standing by the dumpsters last night at the 7-11 was the police were pulling away.

Sorry, comment time is over.
