Great! It is time to be brave and not go for the status quo. That is not working anymore. This “new normal” keeps getting worse. Joe Nguyen got our votes!

Go Joe Go!! We need a more diverse legislature– diversity of backgrounds, experiences, and expertise. Joe is going to be a breath of fresh air in stale Olympia.

In general support his positions.  I hope if he wins, his governing style will ultimately trend away from his comments about “naming and shaming…and calling them out”.  Divisive as Trump.    Collaboration is better for democracy.

I am supporting Shannon. I am not sure how a single mom of three kids in public schools who hasn’t held office became the status quo.  Frankly, I find it sexist to assert that she represents anyone but her self. I hope everyone listens to both good candidates carefully and avoids meaningless labels.

I am not sure how you are pulling sexism out of this. And the entire point of the office is representing the People, not Oneself.

@RBC-i don’t see it. Can you tell me please- what sexist assertion about Shannon representing something.. are you referring to?

Seems like Braddock just wants to elected to anything since she ran against Lisa Herbold for the Seattle Council.

So what is wrong with trying again for a different office?

No surprise that it is Joe versus Shannon for the open seat.  Both candidates need to remember Education is the paramount duty of the State!   As a City resident the recent increase in property taxes was blatantly unfair and needs to be reduced and replaced with a broad based tax.  I have no issue with say a junk food tax or a carbon tax that directly is used to lower property taxes.  Both these taxes are fair and the junk food tax in particular is easily avoidable.  No increase in State taxes is needed!

In today’s count, Joe has surged into an even greater lead, gaining 1,030 votes to open a 1,491-vote margin.

Sorry, comment time is over.
