I heard the shots at 12:38. Rapid fire succession sounded close to us on 107th, but to the south. I didn’t call 911 initially because I could tell for sure if they were gunshots or more stupid fireworks. I called them to update with what I heard after hearing the sirens and seeing this post. Hoping since it’s a leg wound that the young man will be ok. Very scary though.

It was just south of 108th on 35th. A whole clip was emptied out the window of the vehicle in an attempt to chase down the victim and then sped off.

Austin-  Did you see the shots being fired or did you just hear them? I’m trying to figure out just how close to my house this happened. I live close to 108 & 35th.

The individual shot is my next door neighbor. My car was hit along with my garbage can with a round. It was three houses south of 108th. The individual will be fine, we were the one who called police because the victim didn’t want to. The same family lost a son/brother about a year ago to a stabbing. Heart goes out to the mother but these guys are obviously mixed up in something bad. Not thrilled to know of this and be a victim of cross fire with damage to property.

If said victim and mom rents the house, her ahold of landlord to start eviction. If not, get cameras up.

If having a family member fall victim to violent crime is legal grounds for eviction in your bizarro world, it bears little resemblance to ours.

I heard it too, assumed it was fireworks.  Great, now we’ve got fireworks and drive-by shootings in Arbor Heights.

SPD has their work cut out for them this summer.  Stay safe SPD.

I heard it too, and also assumed it was fireworks because some idiot was lighting them off over my house all night starting at 10 pm, so it’s not like I was asleep at that time. Nice when you can’t even tell the dangerous jerks from the regular old “I don’t give a thin crap about my neighbors” variety of jerk – which AH has many of.

    I hope he’ll be ok.

Jethro Marx – no bizarro world, this is actually pretty typical.  Mom is a nice person, but kids aren’t so nice.  Mom can’t say no to kids so they come in and out of her house and trouble follows them.  Neighbors feel for Mom, but get tired of having their lives put at risk because of trouble following Mom’s kids.  Sweet, wonderful Mom is the one on the news saying, “he’s really a good boy” as her son is arrested for the 19th time, this time on a murder charge.  Neighbors don’t think son is such a good boy and would really like for Mom to not live next door.

Wishing a speedy recovery to the victim and that the situation at the root of this and the earlier stabbing gets sorted out to a reasonable solution that provides safety to all.

Sorry, comment time is over.
