Car on side after 2 collide in Arbor Heights

SW 102nd in Arbor Heights is blocked right now at 34th SW because of a 2-car crash that has left one on its side. No serious injuries. If you saw several SPD cars headed south with lights and sirens, this is where they were headed. As for the crash’s cause, police are still talking to the drivers but say the initial indication is nothing more than that they both arrived mid-intersection at the same time.

I heard screeching tires, loud crash, and cheering from the construction workers.  Figure this is related to the detour.

35th had reopened before we got there (and we were headed that way even before SPD, whose cars passed us en route). SDOT told us most recently that they were reopening 35th each afternoon rather than keeping it closed.

Another couple victims of uncontrolled intersection ignorance.  I’m shocked!

It’s been a week of collisions.   There were two this week at 11th Ave SW and SW Holden St.  A jogger was hit in the crosswalk with the rapid flashers going earlier this week and there was a three car collision with an injury at the same spot.  Both occurred in the late afternoon with blinding sun coming from the West. Drivers, please slow down when entering Highland Park, especially heading east on sunny evenings. Glad no-one was hurt in the Arbor Heights incident.

Saw the results of two pretty hard rear enders on my way in to work today. One on Roxbury and one on I5 NB. People need to slow down and pay attention for sure.

I agree Rick, unfortunately this has been said on this blog so many times since 2005 when I first started reading.

Followed a woman with Texas plates across the bridge this morning while she put on her foundation and powder.  Hopefully she got wherever without hurting someone.  Stupidly has no boundaries.

How can people get in accidents like that when they’re supposed to be driving 20 mph in those residential streets?  Are they too stupid to realize that in an intersection with no stop sign they’re supposed to slow down?  Or if two cars arrive at the same time the one on the right has the right of way?

I agree.  I used to live about a block from this accident sire and my, people just fly thru the intersections like it’s no big deal.  I always slow down in fear of some moron racing thru one.

No shortage of stupid these days.

Sorry, comment time is over.
