Ready to recycle and/or shred? Saturday’s the day in the West Seattle Junction

Are you ready? You’re running out of time to prep for the West Seattle Junction’s big recycling/shredding event, 9 am-1 pm Saturday. If you haven’t already seen them, toplines of what will and won’t be accepted are here and here. It’s happening in The Junction’s lot off 42nd SW just south of SW Oregon, presented by the West Seattle Junction Association, the West Seattle Chamber of Commerce, Seattle Public Utilities, Waste Management, and Windermere. No charge – just drive up, ride up, walk up with your stuff.

Can I also bring papers to be shredded?

Does anyone know if mattresses and box springs are welcome? Neither were explicitly called out on accepted/not accepted lists.

    Cut ’em up.

Maybe the organizers can chime in with more details? I went to all the links, but there weren’t many…mostly different versions of the same list. Do electronics (dvd players, etc.) need to be working? What about small appliances that are neither a fridge or furniture? Just can’t tell if this is recycling, reusing, or both and I want to be sure I’m bringing appropriate items.

The “full list” is very incomplete. Any idea on if I can bring a satellite dish?

Sorry, comment time is over.
