Wow!  This has been posted for 5 minutes and there is no comment about an off leash dog on the beach?  Amazing!

  • old timer December 9, 2016 (12:02 pm)

Well, you are the one who made it 2 mw

Love the cute kids (including the grown-up one) and snowmen!

  • 2 Much Whine December 9, 2016 (1:22 pm)

    Point taken.

Just saw the post and it was the first thing I noticed.  Seriously, aren’t there more snow photos available that don’t show illegal activity?

  • Jeannie December 9, 2016 (2:37 pm)

I noticed it right away, too. I’m sure the dog is very cute, but the owner needs to understand that dogs are not allowed on the beach.

OMG always so such negativity! yeah, yeah, yeah they were breaking the law but GEEZ give them a break there was no one else even close and I’m sure the dog got back on a leash after the pic was taken

  • Jeannie December 9, 2016 (6:23 pm)

Dogs, with or without leashes, are not allowed on Alki Beach. And it isn’t a matter of “no one else being close.”

  • Checkyersource December 10, 2016 (11:46 am)

The dog is not like the others- he’s fine!

From Seal Sitters: “Please, always keep your dog leashed near the beach. You never know when a vulnerable seal pup will be onshore, both day and night. Because of their unique mottled fur coats, seals are very difficult to notice on the beach and a dog’s keen sense of smell will discover a pup’s presence long before an owner does. That can often be too late to prevent injury or harm.”

Sorry, comment time is over.
