About the police response in The Junction

copsinstreet

If you saw the big police response in the 4700 block of California SW this past hour – here’s what happened: A “person in crisis” situation inside Talarico’s, according to Seattle Police. The man was subdued by the time officers arrived, and the private ambulance in our photo was called to take him to Harborview Medical Center for an evaluation.

No injuries otherwise, police said.

The legality of the police transferring custody to a private ambulance company is puzzling.

you have two types of ambulance here…Medic 1, for those suffering serious, perhaps cardiac problems, and Private ambulance, for those less injured, not requiring life saving equipment. I had the joy of being in a “private”(meh)  ambulance in July…they were terrific.

We walked out of elliott bay at 8:30 to see 4 cop cars attending this situation. Seems alittle much. A few of them should have been working the streets of junction. We walked to our car across the street twith 2 young kids to find a man in his late 50 doing crack. He had the balls to give us attitude. Followed by the man sleeping in a tent at the atm drive thru. Again all at 8:30!!!

How much law enforcement experience do you have ‘MP”?

I don’t get your comment KT. MP’s comment about a man doing crack on the sidewalk is a balid point to bring up. I would have taken a picture, then walked back across the street to shoe the cops. How mch law experience do you have KT?

@MP  Welcome to OUR neighborhood! It isn’t our happy little “Urban Village” anymore. We hunker down after 6 pm any day and hope for the best. This is why we resist more urbanization. Comes with a huge social downside for our dear Junction families. We are still trying to live here.
