GIVE A LIFE-SAVING GIFT: As previewed here on Monday, today’s the day you can donate blood and help local college student Dennise Lopez, who’s co-hosting the drive, earn scholarship money. 10-noon and 1-4 pm at Holy Family. (20th SW & SW Roxbury)

    oh what a great photo of the Merganser. there is so much news on the blog and elsewhere that causes me worry, but the photos of our local birds just make me smile. thanks !

    Thanks Anne! I went down to Duwamish Head hoping to catch a good pic of a drake merganser. They were really far from shore at first, as I wandered through Don Armeni park, but as I returned to my car this one was quite close to shore, so I was able to get a good pic!
