Something to say about Terminal 5 environmental review? Time’s running out

Quick reminder: If you have something to say about the Port of Seattle‘s environmental review for the Terminal 5 modernization proposal, tomorrow (Monday, November 23rd) is the deadline. Start here. The key comments at this point in the process would be your thoughts on issues that should be reviewed – noise, traffic, air quality, etc. You can review recent coverage in the WSB Port of Seattle-related archives.

Given we can’t be certain exactly ‘what’ uses will take place at Terminal 5 over the long term, it is essential that we have permanent air pollution monitoring at Terminal 5. We must have a method to get help if our air is filled with diesel and other air toxins. Same for illegal noise levels – especially during sleep hours. Clarification: There was a petition a few months ago to get an EIS. That EIS/Environmental Impact Statement goal was accomplished (for multiple reasons) Currently – there is a SECOND and NEW PETITION that asks for air and noise protection for our community – long term. Please sign that SECOND and NEW PETITION at http://www.terminal5.com (many people think they have already signed this new petition, but very likely they signed the earlier petition for an EIS. Again: We have the EIS. Now we need to take the next step which is to get air quality monitoring equipment at Teminal 5 , as well as noise. Please take 2 minutes and go to http://www.terminal5group.com to assist in protecting our air and environment. And yes, one more day to write a letter (mon 11/23/2015) and that help as well. Thank you for taking a few minutes of your time to support hard working people in our community trying to protect our air quality, and environment.

Sorry, comment time is over.
