Car mishap brings police, fire, ambulance to Chief Sealth IHS

If you’re picking up a student at Chief Sealth International High School – where classes are ending for the day – it’ll be more difficult than usual to navigate the parking lot/dropoff zone, where you’ll see police cars, a fire engine, an ambulance, and a tow truck. That’s because of what’s in the photos – a car that somehow wound up on the embankment between the parking lot and the exit driveway alongside the auditorium.

Thanks to the person who texted to let us know about this and shared the top photo; at the scene, police told us the car was driven by a student, who wasn’t hurt, but had passengers who were still being checked.

Car is out. And so was school. Traffic is a little slow but they just allowed the parents to start driving through again

Thanks. After four years as a high-school parent, all I could think of was, imagine arriving at school and seeing all the police, fire, etc. .. would be a nervous moment at the very least.

Sometimes I think 16 to 18 years old is too young to drive… but then I know some 50 years old that shouldn’t be driving either!
Glad no one hurt and yep it’ll be a good pic for the yearbook!

Rolled my VW down that exit ramp 40 years ago. Not all that hard to do. We just flipped ‘er back over and off I went.

How the heck did they miss the road?? It’s a drive thru area to pick up and drop of kids, but was the student not paying attention?? I agree, 16-18 year olds are not ready to drive, as they don’t get it when you tell them the rules of the road. But then again, even adults are the same way……..scary……

My kiddo witnessed, and speed was definitely a factor. Fortunately it didn’t occur at the end of the school day where many others could have been in the path of this idiot.

Sorry, comment time is over.
