Yes, actually I would prefer that. I feel the need to be concerned only after the knock on the door. After dark, I do not answer the door, but it does cause a certain amount of uneasiness. If I knew it was the police and not some unwanted guest disturbing my tranquility, I would answer the door, but past experience has resulted in my being cautious about that sort of thing after hours.

I was annoyingly awakened by a very obnoxious and most likely intoxicated man yelling random obscenities in the alley along 16th…when I saw the mobile disco lights coming through my windows I wondered if the guy went and passed out in someone’s parking spot or god knows what, then I realized that intoxicated yelling man was not much cause for a helicopter and k-9 unit. Perhaps intoxicated yelling man awoke the alert neighbor and they were just dozing back to sleep when they hear the glass being broken. Intoxicated yelling man deserves some kind of commendation.

Cops often ask to look in a yard that a criminal has run through to check for evidence. The criminals often drop their drugs, guns or loot prior to being arrested. Recovering the evidence helps in the case. Also you don’t want a child finding a loaded gun/drugs in the yard. Otherwise somebody would be complaining why the cops didn’t look for it to prevent a tragedy.

Police should be treated a little better. They are damned if they do, and damned if they don’t. I couldn’t do their job otherwise a lot more criminals would bang their heads on my car door, trip fall on their face, and I would find a lot of guns on dead criminals.

Peecee Police: I’m offended that the color of the suspects’ hoodies was mentioned. Was it necessary to the story to point out the color of the hoodies? Y’all are a bunch of racists. Eric: WSB never mentioned this, but it was mentioned by someone who witnessed the (now) arrests. Since race wasn't mentioned, was the person racist against the color of the hoodies? How is this relevant to the story? Well considering that those of us living in this area are quite aware that there is an issue with (wannabe) gangbangers in the area (particuarly claiming "Blood"), both through personal experience and reporting on this, I find this quite relevant to knowing what is happening in my neighborhood. Considering that the witness saw 3 people handcuffed (which we now know were arrested) against a cop car at 1 something in the morning and two of them were wearing red hoodies in an area where there is an issue of wannabe gangbanging and the primary color of the gang is red, I would not be surprised to find out they claim being in a gang. It's not like what has been going with this neighborhood that this would be a stretch of the imagination by any means. I know, I know they probably just like to dress alike, cause we all know how "cool" that is/was to do to dress like our friends. I know.... none of this has ANYTHING to do with the content of character from these indiviuals. It just automatically comes down to being racist. Well gee, since I found out that I'm a racist, I'd better go let my wife know since I'm in an interracial marriage. I should probably also let my immediate and extended family know too since race ranges from European, to Filipina/Filipino, Japanese, Samoan, Portuguese, African American, Italian, and Native American.

What is with these dumb cops knocking on peoples’ doors after dark? They should know better. Anymore, when people knock on my door after the sun goes down, I’m prepared for any eventuality.

Yes, thanks to WSB and the neighbors that were on top of this! I’m on this alley too.

I slept right through it, although I do seem to remember hearing a chopper, but it seems more like a quick flyover/hover, and would have guessed it to have happened much earlier, like around 10:30, about the time I went to bed.

Thanks for being on top of it and up with me everyone! :-) All happened in my neighbors’ back yard, a bit interesting to be alone & wondering what’s going on! All’s well that ends well! Everyone’s gone now.
