West Seattle weekend scene: Big turnout for Co-op Preschools’ consignment sale

For the first time ever, the West Seattle (via South Seattle College) Cooperative Preschools decided to raise money via a big consignment sale of kid stuff – and today’s sale was a big hit. About midway through – not long after we took our photo – sale organizers said they had counted at least 230 shoppers. Numbers they had mentioned earlier: 7,300 items, from more than 100 consigners.

P.S. Any sellers with leftovers, remember that the 10th annual West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day (organized by us here at WSB) is coming up May 10th – with registration opening this Monday (March 31st) – and “kid stuff” is always one of the most popular categories!

Many thanks to all the Co-op parent volunteers and consignors who partnered with WestSide Baby to donate left-overs!! We were thrilled to be a part of your successful efforts. We will pass things along to local children in need!

Was disappointed with the 1$ cover charge!!
Didn’t read that anywhere, Nbd but thrown off a little. Lots of baby things but I have a 7 yr old and was shocked to see half of a table for that age/size!!! Over priced in my opinion!

Thanks to WSB for letting me know about this incredible sale! Funding scholarships became my excuse for lots of high quality low cost stuff. Next stop: looking into Co-op Preschool for my little one! Who knew?!

I’m a co-op parent who was working at the sale. Thank you West Seattle Blog for helping us get the word out! I’d also like to thank all of our consigners, our fantastic crew of volunteers, the VFW post 2713 for the use of their space, Red Tricycle, the West Seattle Herald, our co-op families & Mountain to Sound Outfitters for the FREE BBQ! Thank you also to our shoppers for making our first ever consignment sale a success! And thank you to whomever consigned the red & yellow slide; my kid loves his new “whee!”

While all the parents were purchasing items for their children, I had the chance to visit with lots of people, some who had not been introduced to our parent cooperative preschool program. Remember: It serves families with children age birth through 5 years of age. Visit our web site to learn more http://www.westseattlepreschools.org
Thanks to all the parents who helped raise money for our scholarship program. Great sale!

Such a great sale … lots of cool stuff to buy, good prices, nice people, great cause! I got to clean out my basement, make a little money, donate a little money, and watch WestSide Baby come and cart off a TON of lovely clothing and equipment. Win win win. I’m so grateful for this preschool program, both my sons went through co-op and it was THE BEST experience for our whole family, not just the kiddos!

Sorry, comment time is over.
