We are happy to be able to share this photo by Alki’s David Hutchinson. Just after sunset, we were walking along Don Armeni, where we found him staked out waiting to see if the moon would make this kind of appearance. No sighting by the time we moved on – but eventually, it showed up, spectacularly.

There were probably a dozen photographers staked out at various spots between Luna Park and Seacrest waiting for this. Patrick and I had gone down to the shore for a walk after days of being somewhat housebound and noticed them on the return leg of the journey. Even though we mentioned the full moon in yesterday’s daily preview, it didn’t come to mind immediately and we thought they were all just looking for the classic “golden hour” shot with sunset colors reflecting off the downtown buildings … until we ran into David and learned he was awaiting moonrise.
I saw the NWCN pic, too, shared on FB. At first I thought it was David’s, submitted to NWCN, as well as WSB.

When I saw the image attributed to another person, I figured there had probably been several folks with their cameras hanging out down there. :-)
