Was your stolen stuff in the back of that stolen pickup found in West Seattle? Check out the photos

After we reported Sunday on the stolen pickup spotted by WSB reader James, whose 911 call led to two arrests (one in his photo above), police reported finding the truck full of stolen items. And they have just published an SPD Blotter update with 70 photos of some of the items, in hopes of getting them back to their owners. Here’s just one of the photos, showing some of the items, which range from camera equipment to jewelry to books and more:

Too many photos for us to republish the other 60-plus here – so please go directly to SPDB to have a look.

Meantime, both suspects, a 20-year-old man and 33-year-old woman, remain in the King County Jail, as noted in our Monday followup, and we’ll have another update later when the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office announces its decision on new charges against them. Both already had prior warrants out for their arrest.

5:18 PM UPDATE: King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office spokesperson Ian Goodhew tells WSB charges were filed against either suspect today because they did not receive the case from police as a “rush file.” That means the $20,000 bail set for each has been dropped – the law sets a deadline for releasing suspects if they are not charged. However, each suspect still has unresolved warrants, and that means her bail is now at $15,000, his at $10,000, according to their current statuses on the jail register; we will be watching to see if that changes. Goodhew says, “We are following up with SPD and asking them to get us the cases ASAP so we can evaluate and file if possible.”

Was hoping to see a stroller that got swiped from my neighbor :( no dice. Who steals a stroller?

Chris – the most important thing for your neighbor is that s/he REPORT THE CRIME – here’s hoping they did. If they did, and had a good description of the stroller, they have the best chance of getting it back. If they don’t, pretty much zero chance. I don’t know that these photos represent EVERYTHING found in the truck, though. And for anyone who missed our Monday followup (linked here), please note that the stolen property may well be from outside this area. The male suspect was found with items that were identified in the court documents we obtained Monday afternoon as stolen from somebody in the north end of the city – TR

The Seattle PD photos on the link are terrible.

I was really suprised to see the amount of inexpensive costume jewelry. I just always assumed a theif would leave cheap stuff. But they stole a nose trimmer????

Wasn’t there a serial robber a few months back that got busted, and the police found a storage unit filled with property? Did photos of that property ever get posted somewhere? I’d been looking, as our house was hit during the time frame, but hadn’t had any luck.

when my house was broken into in 2002 they stole all my grandmother’s costume jewelry. Nothing that would have been worth anything at a pawn shop, not one real stone, gold, etc.. Those little sh*ts will take ANYTHING quickly and go through it later on to see if it’s worth anything.

Just looked in my drawer. My nose trimmer is missing.

The red box in the upper left looks like a “sharps container” used in doctors’ offices to safely dispose of needles and such (otherwise known as “sharps”)…not valuable at all but did they hit a medical facility?

Of course, if they always post photos of recovered stolen items, unscrupulous people could always claim the stuff was theirs.

Please post how a person goes about claiming their stuff. My Tom Tom was stolen from my wifes car about a month ago. I did not report it because i just figured it was the cost of living in West Seattle.

Hi – if you follow the link to the SPD Blotter post, it has the phone # for the Major Crimes Unit, which is handling this stuff. Hope you get it back!

Good job, James! Thanks for being on the ball and successfully passing it to the SPD.

Unfortunately, SPD appear to have fumbled said ball per the update.

Sorry, comment time is over.
