In the morning, has anyone else noticed a higher than usual amount of people cutting across the illegal to cross double white line area?

@enough It’s as if “anything goes” lately. I don’t mess around too much since I don’t have much room for error riding a motorcycle – but I can’t say I’m all too surprised with people getting “creative”. It really is a total joke – I’m moving as soon as I can. Colleagues from Bellevue get to work downtown faster than I do. It’s only 6 miles!!!

I agree, the bridge / viaduct is a total joke these days.

I saw a motorcyclist coming up from Spokane and merging right (legally) to head up to Columbian Way and some a-hole and a few of their friends decided to cut across the double white line to try to get to I 5 north and there was almost an incident this morning. I think this sort of weave accident potential is why the double white line was laid down.

It’s frustrating to see people cut to the front but yeah, I’m not surprised .. It shouldn’t take 30 – 45 minutes to drive 6 miles. I am just afraid of the accident potential for cars but especially motorcycle riders.

I filed a form on line with SPD. I let them know they could probably write tickets all morning :) So, we’ll see.

I think folks that try to cross the double white line, at the merge spot, need simply be directed to proceed up the hill and find their way back down on their own…it isn’t as if they will drive off a cliff if we don’t let them in, n’est-ce pas? they should not be allowed to merge at that point because they are then cutting in front of ALL of us that are behind … simply not fair and is rude on top of illegal…. more from me about all this at the below blog and I encourage any other WS residents, who are fed up with the WS transit issue, to drop in add your two cents.

Great blog, Whacked. I’ll be back. The bridge at commute hours is a total joke and any driver who cuts at the end receives many choice words from me. I only wish it was more.
