Video: KING 5 News team back in West Seattle for bagging battle

For the second year in a row, April began with a celebrity bagging battle at Admiral Safeway to kick off a monthlong fundraising campaign through Special Olympics and Easter Seals – with the help of the KING 5 Morning News team. News anchor Mark Wright, traffic reporter Tracy Taylor, and meteorologist Rich Marriott each partnered this morning with a Safeway employee who’s also a Special Olympics athlete, to face off in a grocery-bagging competition – see the video above, and click ahead for the results and photos!

Mark Wright and Caleb Dorris, a track-and-field athlete, were the winners by a point! In second, Rich Marriott and Annie Thomas, a track/relay/bowling/softball athlete, from the Kent-Meridian store:

And then came last year’s defending co-champ Tracy Taylor with Lisa Burke, a track athlete who works at the Admiral store:

What fun! One of the things Easter Seals does is helps people with disabilities find employment and train for jobs like this. The world is a better place for all when we support organizations like this. Bravo Safeway for promoting support for Easter Seals and Special Olympics!
