Umpqua Bank in the Admiral District: Welcome, new WSB sponsor

Hooray for Umpqua! I opened an account there last year and have been delighted with my experience. Despite banking with Bank of America for 15 years, every time I walked in one of their branches they treated me like a total stranger. But after only a short time at Umpqua I was always recognized and welcomed warmly. They offer a much friendlier, “small town” experience than all of those big monster banks. I couldn’t recommend them more highly.

A completely unsolicited rave about this bank. …Kirk Meade was the manager at Alaska USA Federal Credit Union at Westwood. He was great and when he turned up at Umpqua, my family decided that we would move too. People know us by name when we walk in. We re-financed our house with Mel Bradley, and quite frankly it was the best refinance we have ever experienced and I am sure Mel is responsible for that. Umpqua is cool.

We love Umpqua! My husband and our kids all have accounts. The whole staff is super cool and the atmosphere is cozy and warm- good magazines, coffee, tea, free internet, AND good music. I might just move in…

Might be worth me looking into switching one of my checking accounts to them. I find it interesting that they list construction interest rates on their site for personal needs. Most banks never want to talk about that.
