West Seattle Summer Fest: 1 month away! Vendor list out

One month till West Seattle Summer Fest begins in The Junction – July 13, 14, and 15, those magic days/nights when the streets in the heart of “downtown West Seattle” close for the neighborhood’s biggest party of the year. Today, you can preview the official list of Summer Fest vendors – see the list here. Once you’ve found a vendor that interests you, you can cross-reference their number with their location by zooming in on the map you’ll find here. (WSB, a Summer Fest co-sponsor, will again this year be assisting fairgoers and reporting live from the Information Booth.) The eagerly awaited music list is expected soon; as reported here last week, we know Caspar Babypants will be back, on Friday 7/13 at the community stage on SW Alaska (which is where community performance acts such as dance troupes will be found).

ADDED 1:50 PM: One more local act has announced via Facebook that it’s playing Summer Fest on opening day, too: Branden Daniel and The Chics (2 pm 7/13, they say), featured here back in March because of the West Seattleite-led band’s “Mor Yay” video featuring mostly WS scenery.

Looks like maybe you’ve got a typo on Caspar Babypants date: “Friday, 6/13” –> 7/13?

Thank you. Yes, still a month away. Also, another local act has just announced itself as performing on that date, adding to the story … TR

it looks like there isn’t a kids area this year, with the big inflatable slides, bounce houses, climbing walls, etc… is that correct ? (it’s not on the ‘map you’ll find here’)
last year they were in the north part of alaska, and then in the adjacent bank parking lot.

Sam – this is just the vendors map, not necessarily the comprehensive “all of Summer Fest” map. There WILL be a kids’ area! – TR

This is my firt year living in West Seattle — just a block north of the whole she-bang. I have parking at my place, but will there be restrictions on who can get close in their cars? Should I keep some kind of proof of my address with me? I’m right ON California and I worry I won’t be able to get home if I leave. I know, I know, WHY would I leave? Thanks!

So you’re around California/Genesee, or north of there? Oregon stays open for east-west movement, Alaska is the only street blocked to east-west traffic … others can give you better tips :) – TR

Bummer that they’re using that stage again for Casper. It sits so low to the ground and the area is so small that only the people closest to the stage can see. I was hoping that after last years crowd they’d go with the big stage this year.

Hi Meegan, They are moving the Caspar show this year. He will be performing on a stage at Junction Plaza Park (across from Rocksport and QFC). I just confirmed the info with him.

Completely unwelcome and inappropriate to keep having the anti choice religious groups back year after year.

And having the Religious groups at it is OK? If you don’t like them don’t go to their booth. That is why we live in America “Freedom of Choice”
