West Seattle scene: ‘Art cars’ on parade

Several people mentioned the sighting, via e-mail/Facebook/Twitter – but so far, John Smersh at Click! Design That Fits (WSB sponsor) in The Junction is the only one who’s sent a photo of the “art cars” that were spotted northbound through West Seattle this past hour. The art cars are always on display during the Fremont Fair, which is happening this weekend, but what they’re doing in West Seattle tonight – if anything beyond “out for a drive” – we haven’t figured out yet! (You might recall, they rallied here last year AFTER the fair.)

8:05 PM UPDATE: Thanks to Keri for the tip they were parked along Admiral hill – we headed over for photos. But first, Debra Salazar Herbst shared her views, including these two from Don Armeni:

The drivers weren’t in sight so we could only assume they were at a private party on the eastern slope down from the uphill lanes where they were parked:

Love the Art Cars. Saw them “parade” by California and Oregon while at happy hour at Shadowland. Lots of new ones. The toaster is pretty cool. If I had one of those Scion Xb boxes, I’d like to have it white, with an icemaker/water dispenser in the door.

We drove by the boat ramp on Alki about 20 minutes ago, and there appeared to be at least 5 of these cars hanging out right in front of the boat ramp. We both said, “i can’t believe WSB hasn’t reported on this yet!” Sorry we drove by too fast to get a pic for you!

But April, we had – your comment is timestamped 7:23 … if you saw them at 7 …we published this at 6:18. Just adding some more photos now; we received photos from Don Armeni, and after hearing they were parked along Admiral hill, we went to get some pix there … TR
