West Seattle weather: Bit of snow in winter’s final days

(The requisite “proof it snowed” video, shot at 9:30 am)
ORIGINAL 6:33 AM REPORT: Spring officially arrives next Monday night. Winter isn’t giving up without a fight. A little more snow dusted the area overnight; we’ve had reports via Facebook and Twitter, from Admiral to Arbor Heights, and beyond. Let us know if there’s any actually on the ground where you are; it apparently snowed a little more heavily in points south and east. A “special weather statement” is in effect and warning that some snow and/or hail is still possible during what the National Weather Service calls “a showery, cool day” ahead.

9:04 AM UPDATE: Getting a notable snow shower here in Upper Fauntleroy at the moment.

Just plain ol’ rain here on Vashon Island!

Plain ol rain everywhere else too, but sites like this have to hype even the most minor weather in order to inflate pageviews for advert dollars.

Aw c’mon “Questionable.” (A) More pageviews do not bring in more $. We sell flat rate and haven’t changed our rates in 4 1/2 years (though we have 8 times as many pageviews). (B) If you turn the TV on (we reluctantly watch during the morning news to keep an eye out for traffic problems that might affect WS drivers), you’ll see more than a few places around the metro area that actually do have snow on the ground. Sorry; we’re not making it up. – TR

I got tired of this crap two months ago. And if you check out a weather map, we are the only part of the country still experiencing this cool and snowy weather. Enough already, i’m ready for warm weather and good round of golf.

I find the logic quite questionable, in viewing a website, thus adding to the coffers containing the assumed pageview dollars, when doing so will only add to those coffers.

    .

Even more questionable, is the logic in posting a comment which is certain to elicit responses, and in knowing this, the commenter is certain to repeatedly re-visit the site, which, if it were indeed true, would add even more of those pageview dollars to the coffers.

If you saw a purple blur slogging along the West Seattle bridge this morning, that was me … in what one weather forecaster refers to as “lumpy snow” ….

Sorry, comment time is over.
