West Seattle weather: Beauty after the downpour

After at least two rainbow sightings late today/early this evening .. it got even better, with amazing colors in the clouds. Thanks to Debra for the top photo, and JayDee for this one:

And Elaine shares a somewhat whimsical view, with the help of the Lowman Beach/Lincoln Park geese:

Tomorrow, says the forecast, we’ll see some sun. (Keep watch via the WSB Weather page – which has moon/sun/tides, too.)

It gets more and more like southern weather around hear as the years go by. I got a shot of a brilliant rainbow from my bedroom window after the storm.

    Love the photos

I love those ducks, I so enjoy seeing them at Lincoln Park (my backyard). I wish I knew their names. Anyone know what they are named?

By name, I take it to mean you don’t mean Donald and Daffy but rather the species of bird? ;)

My two-bit guess is they are brants – which are actually a type of goose, not a duck. http://birdweb.org/birdweb/bird/brant

That’s a the link to the Seattle Audobon Society, an excellent resource for learning about some of our local birds.

These are the big white ones. I’ve never seen a white brant. I actually thought the commenter might have meant “names” … as discussed previously in some other thread, they’ve been there forever (or at least their “family” has – ducks/geese that look like these), I could imagine them having names like Daisy, Daffy, whatever…

I imagine that they are domestic ducks. haven’t heard whether or not they have names but i bet they do:) probably many.

No, I did mean names. I know they are the pets of someone.

Sorry, comment time is over.
