West Seattle Crime Watch: Seen this stolen scooter?

From Joe:

I live down on 26th & Trenton St. (behind Westwood Village) and noticed that my blue 2006 Yamaha Vino scooter had been stolen. It was parked on 26th Ave just north of the 26th & Trenton intersection. License plate 910305. Probably stolen sometime between 1 pm Wednesday and noon today (Thursday). The only modification is it has a windshield. Looks exactly like this (plus a windshield).

Wow, that’s rotten, Joe. We’re posting this now on our website and our FB page so our members will be on the lookout. The best odds of recovery are in the first day, so we’ll be on the lookout! Please consider doing a search yourself in a 3 or 4 block radius of where it was stolen. Oftentimes, if it’s some punk who pushed it away, they sometimes get scared off or tired, and just hide it behind bushes or something to retrieve later with a truck. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice WSC, and thanks for the blog post! I’m holding out hope it was just joy-ridden around WS for a bit before being ditched. Both my gf and I love that bike!

Vino’s are darned good machines; practically bulletproof. Several of our members have them. In a worst case scenario, it might and been nicked for parts, but our money is still on joyriders. We’ve got Westies between here and Ballard on the lookout, and will call 911 if it’s spotted.

Sorry, comment time is over.
