West Seattle scene: Random act of seating

That photo from Genesee Hill would be lovely without words – another beautiful West Seattle view on a perfect summer day. But Lolo, who shared the picture, explains the reason it’s worth a smile:

A while back our bench disappeared. This morning a bench appeared at the overlook, magically. Not sure this is hugely newsworthy, but I think it’s an example of anonymous giving that should be recognized.

It’s an example of West Seattle at its finest, and why we choose to live here. Well done, whoever is the responsible party.

What a surprise! While taking in the view moments ago, i heard the sound of scots broom seed pods popping in the hot sun – a sound that i would likely never have heard if not for the bench. Thanks for making Genesee Hill that much better:)

Thank you so much mystery generous neighbor. The original bench brought such a warm sense of community to our dead end, I’ve really missed it. Come on back West Seattle and enjoy the view, the dead end welcomes you!

This is of the most beautiful public view points in West Seattle, so what an incredible delight to have the bench back again where everyone can enjoy it. Thank you kind bench fairy and also thanks to the neighbors who keep the area mowed and tidy!

What you don’t see in this photo is the grand expanse of water off to the right, with the ferries scooting to and from Vashon Island. I used to live on that street, so I am familiar with the breathtaking view. Congratulations on having a bench there again.

Where exactly is the bench placed? Want to check out that view!

      I was told there’s a dead-end stub at 49th/Genesee.

Sorry, comment time is over.
