West Seattle scene: Star Anna packs Easy Street in The Junction

Big crowd inside and outside West Seattle’s Easy Street Records tonight for Star Anna and The Laughing Dogs, performing live to celebrate the release of their new album “Alone in This Together.” We’re told Star Anna lives here now, as do some of her bandmates. Even from the street, though, as this clip tweeted by @darrenkwalsh shows, they sounded great. If you missed the Easy Street show, the band’s website says they’re live downtown at noon tomorrow (like tonight’s Easy Street show, free) – AND later this summer, you’ll see them again in West Seattle during Summer Concerts at Hiawatha (co-sponsored by WSB) series, as the grand-finale act on September 1st.

THIS CORNER IN OUR WS JUNCTION PUTS OUT ALOT OF CIGARET BUTTS INTO THE STORM DRAIN OUT FRONT FROM THE LOCAL ITSELF AND THE OCCUPANT POOL HALL/BAR
UNDERNEATH. PUT YOUR BUTTS IN THE TRASH PEOPLE OR DONT AND THEY EVENTUALLY WILL BE IN PUGET SOUND.

Star Anna and The Laughing dogs are indeed a West Seattle band-all but 1 of them live in West Seattle and they are generously supporting The Community School of West Seattle at our auction TOMORROW-Thursday 7/14. Tickets are $35 and include a $25 donation, great appertizers and of course an awesome show at the Columbia City Theater. You can stop by the Community School anytime today or Thursday to pick up your tickets-cash or checks only. Check out the auction web site to see all good deals http://www.digitauction.blogspot.com
You can of course come just for the show around 9pm-but the whole night will be a BLAST. We are raising money to renew our outside play space, for continued staff education and for our scholarship fund which provides over $5,000 A MONTH to assist families with tuition. We provide assistance to between 24 and 35 children every year and have done ever since we opened.
So come out for a good time and to support our school, our community and AN AWESOME BAND.

Sorry, Sarah, that wasn’t on their website, or I would have included it. I googled to be extra sure I wasn’t missing anything and that’s the only reason I even remembered Admiral. – TR

No worries-it’s technically a ‘private’ event as we can only sell tickets here at school-but thanks as always for your continued support and coverage of really great things happening here on our ‘Island’ xxx
