Happening now: 1st week for High Point Market Garden Farm Stand

Cheap, organic, fresh vegetables – as fresh as if you picked them yourself – are on sale right now at the summer’s first weekly High Point Market Garden Farm Stand shopping availability (32nd/Juneau, till 7 pm). The veggies are grown feet away:

Just park on Juneau – if you’re not walking, biking, busing – and look for the stand’s canopy:

Besides what you see in our top photo, they also have various greens including lettuce, plus peas, carrots, and potatoes. And if you miss it today, they’re open again every Wednesday TFN, 4-7 pm.

We love the High Point Veggie Garden and have been seasonal subscribers for years. The gardeners were all farmers in their native homes in SE Asia and grow everything expertly and beautifully. This program is a win-win for everyone. How cool is that?

On King they said foodstamps too. Any chance it could open on a weekend? That time slot is difficult. I would think a weekend slot would really help their sales.

Looks good, I wish our Walla Walla’s were that big.

@Coffee Not sure about food stamps. I just know no checks or credit/debit. I agree a weekend day would be more convenient. The gardeners live in Highpoint so it seems like it would we easy. I’ll reach out to Seattle Pea Patch and ask.

The people working there are quite friendly, too. Check it out!

We love these comments and conversation about the High Point Farm Stand. We are in the process of getting our EBT/Food Stamp certification, so we’ll let West Seattle Blog know when we can begin accepting food stamps.

if you go by there to purchase, can you specify what you want to buy or do they just give you a bag of random veggies?

  • Jenn July 21, 2011 (12:17 am)

@destinyabound: You can choose whatever you want. They have a good variety of vegetables, and sell it in whatever amount you want. Some produce is priced by the pound and some by the bunch. You can pick up $2 off coupons at the lobby of the Neighborhood House High Point Center. The further along the harvest season, the more kinds of veggies become available.

Sorry, comment time is over.
