West Seattle Crime Watch: Suspected package theft; mower gone

ORIGINAL 8:56 PM REPORT: Out of the WSB inbox, from Jennifer:

Just a quick note to report a stolen package from my home on 31st and Holden [map]. Supposedly delivered and left at the front door on 6/13; it hasn’t yet turned up. Filed a claim and fingers crossed but just wanted to give a heads up, also curious if this has happened to anyone else lately.

ADDED 10:56 PM: One more short Crime Watch report has just come in, so rather than hold it till later, we’re adding it to this one:

I am writing to report a theft and to alert my neighbors so they can protect their property. A lawnmower was stolen from my residence sometime between Sunday evening and Tuesday midday. I live in the vicinity of 17th and Trenton [map] and the lawn mower was in a fenced back yard and was taken from the back patio when we were home.

Yes. Both my neighbor and I (23rd & Roxburyish) had packages stolen in the past few weeks.

i ordered 2 rare CDs from Amazon last year. they never showed up at my door even after getting the UPS delivery notifications. i found the CDs a few months later at Easy Street.

Someone should set up an ambush. It would be so easy.

We also live nearby (32nd & Thistlish). In the past few weeks a lawnmower secured to a a pole with a cable and lock has been disturbed several times, with the tarp moved back or off the mower. I think the person/people see the lock and leave.

Regarding the package theft, it could be mis-delivered at this point too. I’ve had UPS and FedEx deliver packages to my house that were for my address one block E and W. They don’t get it straightened out until the next day (if the unintended recipient calls) Both companies make it enough of a hassle that I’ve delivered the packages myself rather than leaving it for them.

Sorry, comment time is over.
