West Seattle = Hollywood North? Another movie shoot

Thanks to Jessica and Jenn for sending tips – another film is shooting in West Seattle. If you’ve driven along Admiral Way, you might have noticed the equipment outside the Heartland CafĂ© and Shipwreck Tavern this morning. The film is called “Safety Not Guaranteed“; the crew tells us they’ll be here most of the day. According to iMDB, the plot is along the lines of: “Two magazine employees head out on an assignment to interview a guy who placed a classified ad seeking a companion for time travel.”

Among its stars – Kristen Bell. Looking around online, we’ve found indications they’ve been filming at other locations in the area this month, including Downtown Seattle and Burien.

Ooh, and Aubrey Plaza! Love her (and love Kristen Bell, despite her sometimes questionable career choices).

(FYI, your Kristen Bell link is currently just directing to the photo of the “crew parking” sign.)

Yay Kristen Bell! Veronica Mars makes me heart her forever. That movie actually sounds like a good one for once.

It is very interesting how Seattle gets a lot of time in the limelight. I love this city so it is great any time they get into a movie.

Both Kristen Bell and Aubrey Plaza are awesome actresses. Veronica Mars is forever a part of my heart, and Parks and Rec rules! Fun times for WS…

I saw them filming in the Grocery Outlet parking lot in Burien like two weeks ago. I didn’t see any of the actresses but I took a picture of a rad car against a huge white screen: http://instagr.am/p/EHm7n/

Ran by there this morning, if I knew Kristen Bell was on site I may have cut my run short!

    Hello

What fun. Just wondering, I moved here from Chicago recently and I’m looking for part time flexible work. Does anyone know anything about working as a movie extra?

    thanks! Wren

That car looks like an old Datsun 280Z. The white screen is called a silk. It’s used to diffuse the light, so there is a softer transition between light and shadow on the subject.

Too bad Wa State Legislators voted to NOT extend our state motion picture incentive program that helped drive film/production work to Washington. The program is dead. This also cuts our Washington Film Office – so no more place to call for outsiders w questions about Wash locations. Portland is shooting 2 Tv series & a big budge feature, why? State incentive programs.

Sorry, comment time is over.
