At Alki this afternoon: The sun, the sea, the sand, the flash mob

Whether they heard about it via Facebook (which is where we got and shared the word, after a WSB’er tip), or just happened to be on the boardwalk at the time, a delighted crowd paused to watch a dancing ‘flash mob’ this afternoon – at 4:30 pm on 4/30. Its organizers Stephanie Gaebel and Karen Klebs had explained it, amid laughter, on YouTube:

(The choreography was shared via that same YouTube channel too.) Ahead, photos of the dance as it happened this afternoon:

As these things always do – it started low-key … and then … full-on choreography, including ballet, belly-dancing, hipster, and gangsta:

The Alki dance was preceded by a warm-up version at Pike Place Market an hour earlier – which also went well, according to a fan who followed the group on to Alki.

Yay! More of this! How about a flash mob in the 4-way crossing in the Junction on a lazy Sunday morning? That would be AWESOME!!!

Sorry, comment time is over.
