West Seattle Water Taxi to resume 7-day-a-week schedule April 8

With the West Seattle Water Taxi resuming service today after several days off for repairs, some have asked when the 7-day-a-week spring/summer schedule will begin. We got the answer from the office of West Seattle’s King County Councilmember Joe McDermott: April 8th, one week from this Friday. The official schedule isn’t online yet but should be available soon. Councilmember McDermott, by the way, recently became chair of the King County Ferry District board, which oversees the Water Taxi.

Yay! Looking forward to being able to water taxi downtown on the weekends! Now if i could actually go to dinner & a movie on a saturday downtown and still take the water taxi home, that would be so awesome. Let’s see what the schedule says. I’m also hoping for mid-day service instead of just morning and evening commuting hours. I can understand “reduced” service during non-peak hours, but not no service. Not if they want to increase ridership. It needs to be a more reliable means of transportation that West Seattleites can depend on. I certainly hope that eventually that dream will be reality. Hopefully before the viaduct is gone.

I don’t recall any interruptions in service when Argosy was providing the boats and pilots. The craft itself was also nicer and less cramped.

Sorry, comment time is over.
