West Seattle Weather Watch: Thundershower alert

(Photo added 5:17 pm, courtesy Jerry from JetCityOrange.com)
A few minutes ago, the National Weather Service sent out a “short-term forecast” alert:

A LINE (of) SHOWERS IS MOVING THROUGH THE PUGET SOUND REGION. SOME LIGHTNING AND THUNDER IS POSSIBLE WITH THESE SHOWERS DURING THE NEXT HOUR. BRIEF HEAVY DOWNPOURS ARE POSSIBLE AS WELL.

Overall, the latest forecast predicts gusts up to 24 miles per hour, but 40-mph gusts are possible tomorrow.

    Wishful thinking

Well, I can look out the window and see ’em coming. Puget Sound T-storms are typically “one-clap” wonders (as the NWS forecasters refer to them). Based on the satellite, more rinse, wash, repeat is coming.

BTW, if you haven’t seen this link it is amazing — much better than others:

Recently it started updating as it ran. Tres cool.

ha ha. one of my high school friends’ parents visited a several years ago. while here, we had a rare but magnificent thunderstorm and I told them how much I missed those. a little later, the mom sent me a tape (a tape!!!) of thunderstorms she had recorded for me from ‘back home’
