One day after kayakers on the Duwamish River witnessed history as the South Park Bridge creaked open one last time, the next round of community kayak tours on the river has been announced by the Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition, in connection with West Seattle’s Alki Kayak Tours, as well as Camp Long, and other organizations. Read on for the schedule, and how to save your spot:

Join guides from DRCC/TAG, Alki Kayak Tours, Seattle Parks and Recreation’s Camp Long, Seattle Aquarium Society, and National Wildlife Federation, to learn about the natural and built environments of the Duwamish River.

Kayaking experience is not necessary, and all gear and instructions are included. Explore the river to learn about Superfund site cleanup plans, river history, and community activism. You’ll also see amazing habitat restoration sites and watchable wildlife, including summer nesting ospreys, seals and sea lions, and shore birds.

All Tours meet at Duwamish Waterway Park, 7900 10th Ave. S., in the South Park neighborhood.
