Two West Seattle Crime Watch reports to share tonight. First, a burglary this morning; second, the recent tale of what one witness described as “the drunken plant thief” – read on for both:
From B:
Burglary this morning around 10:30 am at 7749 46th Avenue SW just above Lincoln Park off Fauntleroy. TV, camera, miscellaneous personal items. White sedan not belonging in the neighborhood observed parked in front of the home on 46th, with two white females and a male observed in the car. No definite link to the crime, however.
From Betsy, whose husband reported this:
Two inebriated young men pulled into the parking lot of Home Depot in front of him. One guy jumped out of the side of the convertible, grabbed a flat of plants, threw them in the car, and jumped back into the convertible again. In the process, his bedroom slipper fell off. (Husband) noted the make and model and another customer wrote down the license plate and alerted store employees. Shortly thereafter, the guys pulled back into the parking lot to retrieve the slipper, whereupon an alert customer gave chase, following them while on the phone alerting police as to the whereabouts. I believe the concern was for the drunk driving, not for the well-being of the plants. According to store employees, the inebriated would be gardeners were apprehended.
