Go fish! West Seattle Sportsmen’s Hi-Yu Kids Fishing Derby Saturday

That photo is courtesy of the West Seattle Sportsmen’s Club, which wanted to get out one more reminder that it’s kicking off West Seattle Hi-Yu season with the annual, free Kids’ Fishing Derby this Saturday at Seacrest. 8 am-11 am, the first 150 kids ages 12 and under get a chance to catch one of the fish with which a portable pond will be stocked, right on the Seacrest dock. No registration required – just show up. Here’s the official flyer.

that’s not fishing… please, take your kids outside — like, to A RIVER. this is just kinda sad.

Rivers in Puget Sound are closed until June 1st. Columbia river tribs are open, but they use kids for bait down there, so the little ones would not likely enjoy the experience. :)

Hey “smash the state” you sound like the same jerk that caused a rucus at the last Kid’s Fishing Pond. Besides, it’s not for big kids it mostly for little kids to try to get them interested in fishing and none of the fish go to waste. I asked the guys what they do with the leftovers and they said they give them to the people that are there or they go to feed the Homeless. So who is sad now?

Sorry, comment time is over.
