West Seattle scene: Wedding wrapup at Alki

For better or for worse, through richer or poorer … through rain or shine … Mark shared that photo taken over the weekend after he spotted the truck on Alki.

Sorry to be a killjoy…but what is going to happen to all that plastic once the joke is over? What a huge waste, and see the article below about the whale that swallowed a bunch of human-produced junk. It’s all connected…

All that plastic and then some is wrapped around pallets of food and other products that are delivered to stores, where you buy them. OMG. Better get on that too.

Killjoy!! Just because they did something fun does not automatically mean that they won’t “do the right thing”!… Come on!

Yeah…. whatever you do, don’t throw the plastic into the ocean! The whales will eat it!

What fun – harmless fun – and what a surprise for the groom and bride! 26 years ago our car was filled with so much rice and birdseed our speakers quit working – but it was in good spirit and celebration. I like the twist of potentially postponing the honeymoon while they unwrap the truck!! haha

Some people believe they have a better solution than wheel locks to deter theft.

I wonder if the reception was at Christos on Alki?

‘Bound’ together in marriage. Don’t miss the tinfoil on the wheels.

You got us on the environmental point, but we did intentionally use recyclable materials and when balled together it is not that much – probably less than the amount left over on X-Mas morning in many households. Not to overly downplay the environmental concern, it is a good one, and one we share, but sometimes we gotta celebrate and then make sure our messes end up in the recycling – as this one will. On the bright side, they weren’t able to drive for a couple days – possibly a decent eco footprint offset.

We’d hoped somebody directly involved would show up with a comment – thanks, Conan. – TR

come on all, let’s take it easy on Katie, I for one appreciate the perspective and concern. On a side note, boy am I glad the groom already knows I was involved cause the WSB just outed me – so much for anonymity, ouch!

I did the same thing, but to a person. 200 yards of Saran wrap, wrapped him to his bunk when I was in the Marines. He had been out late, had a few adult beverages and was a bit loud. After he fell asleep/passed out, Me and a buddy spent 25 minutes passing the roll up, over and under until we used the whole thing. Lucky for the guy he had an arm over his head or he would have never gotten out!
And we only went up to his shoulders and stayed awake to watch him struggle, just in case he curled up and his head went under. I have a great picture of it, still makes me laugh.

Ah, the college pranks. The stories. But we don’t want to give anyone any ideas, do we?

A friend of mine did this to a few fellow students’ cars senior year in high school as well as to my Dad’s car at my graduation party…pretty funny :) I drove by yesterday and saw this and it brought back memories of that as well as my friends “decorating” our truck after our wedding. Congrats to the newly weds!!

    It’s a wrap!

As the bride/owner of the truck in the above photo, we were quite surprised to come home from the honeymoon to this display of affection! We too appreciate the environmental concern and don’t worry-we are recycling all the materials… except the dirty diaper. Yes, a dirty diaper was left inside the truck-nice touch guys!!!
