West Seattle coyotes: Admiral-area sighting today

Pam e-mailed to say, “I walked out of my house at 47th and Lander [map] around 12:30 pm today and saw a coyote running north on 47th. Any other sightings reported?” As previously discussed, coyote sightings aren’t all that rare, but not everyone is aware of the coexistence advice in stories like this one we published last weekend. Here’s our archived coyote coverage.

Mating season is right around the corner so expect to see more. I live at 44th and Portland and have a large family that has made lots of noise in the past few evenings.

I heard a coyote howling on our street (37th and Raymond)last night. This is the first I’ve heard one in our neighborhood.

A coyote ran northbound on 47th in front of my house (47th & College) a little before noon. Funny there was a group of crows following the coyote and making quite a bit of noise…caw caw caaaaaw!
