West Seattle scooter club invites you to All City Scooter Day

It’s not in West Seattle, but “RogerTango” from the WS-based Westenders Scooter Club wants to extend the invite to all local riders – and potential riders – to scoot across the bridge for this:

Just a quick reminder that All City Scooter Day #2 will be happening at Scoot About! (535 Westlake Avenue N.) this Saturday from 12 – 2pm. This community event promotes scooters as a viable and fun means of alternative transportation around the city! Check out many different makes and models of scooters, learn how a scooter can be an excellent alternative to a car, and you may even go home with a brand new scooter which will be given away during the event! This event is supported by West Seattle’s own Westenders Scooter Club , which had a scooter display at the (Sustainable West Seattle Festival) last month in the Junction!

    How perfect of a place to ask my question… we live on alki and my fiance works in sodo and has had to use my scooter to commute for the last week while my car was in the shop. As we all know, sodo is a mess and 2 days ago, it messed up my scooter. Something happened to the front/suspension/?? and it’s almost impossible to steer now. Anyone have an informed recommendation on where we should take it to get repaired? Thanks a bunch!

    ps – if my scooter weren’t broken, I would be all over this event!!! How awesome!

    This was tons of fun last year, esp. the West Seattle ride afterward. :-)

    Noreaster – what kind of scoot is it? I bought my Buddy from Ducati Seattle and those guys are great at service, but they only do Ducatis and Buddies. I’m no help beyond that.

    It’s a Yamaha Vino. I already tried Vespa of Seattle, and they only do Vespas. But they did mention they’re working on opening a new location to service all types of scooters since University Scooters, or someone like that, closed down. But that won’t be open until the fall :-(

    @noreaster
    Try Big People Scooters, they might be able to help.

    Hi Noreaster! Scoot About! has a repair shop too! They just hired University Honda’s former mechanic after UH folded. They do great work and have the best shop rates I know of. I’m pretty sure they can work on your Vino, as many of their rental scoots are based on the Vino design. Please check them out at http://www.scootabout.biz , or call (206) 407-3362 . Good luck, and hope to see you at ACSD2!

    i’ve heard that you can try the scooter gallery http://www.scootergalleryseattle.com/, they work on yamahas, even moreso now that the yamaha place went out of business. i’ve got a vino that needs a new tire, guess i’ll be calling them soon, too. want to share a tow truck? ;)

    oh thanks for that info, roger. that place looks easier to get to, and i’m all about that! :)

    Scoot About is definitely a better place to take your scoots for repairs! And when they’re not being worked on, they’re stored in a much safer, covered area.

    Thanks for the help! I think I may give them a shot. My other option is to take it to the Yamaha dealer in Bellevue, but getting it there is the problem.

Sorry, comment time is over.
