West Seattle Crime Watch: Police investigating gunshots

Sometimes “shots fired” calls to police turn out to be fireworks. Not this time. Right now police are out at Delridge/Thistle (map) investigating one of those calls, and, per the scanner, an officer reported finding several shell casings “just east of Delridge/Thistle.” No word so far of anyone having been hit; they are circulating a possible vehicle description — full-size white SUV, chrome rims, no description of who’s in it.

I heard those shots. You can tell it’s gun shots if they’re in rapid succession; you can’t light fire works that fast.

full sized white suv with chrome rims? what a cliche. it’s like, dudes, at least be creative in your thuggish behavior, instead of playing by exactly by the loser playbook . . .

I think I know that SUV. If it’s the same one, they’ll have no trouble finding it, as it’s often skulking around on Delridge between the library and the 8000 block.

I’ll be checking tomorrow to see if they closed the case but they were definitely chasing possible leads when I checked out of the scanner for the night – other light-colored SUVs were being checked out in the area as well as south into White Center.

I heard them. They were less than a block from my house. I was skeptical when people say that you know a gun shot from a firework when you hear it. I did know the difference. You will, too.

There is sometimes a white SUV w/ chrome rims parked just outside those townhouse’s driveway on Delridge and the driver is usually visiting some guy in the apartment complex adjacent to the townhouses. I will keep my eyes and ears open for suspicious activity.

Jessica that’s the one I’m thinking of too. It’s often parked in front of one house or another (or those broken-down houses around the 8000 block on the east side of the street – the ones with tarps on the roofs where there’s a lot of “activity” all the time…)

That SUV has always seemed to be involved in one thing or another – occupants are definitely up to no good.

I believe it’s an Escalade if I remember correctly, and eggshell, not truly white.

Sorry, comment time is over.
