Seattle Open swim meet continues tomorrow at Colman Pool

Thanks to Cindy McComish for that photo from Colman Pool at Lincoln Park, where the Seattle Open swim meet continues through tomorrow (replacing the regular public swimming schedule). Cindy writes, “Congratulations to all the swimmers who work hard to qualify to be in this meet. Come watch youth from western Washington go fast!” (She’s parent to a West Seattle YMCA [WSB sponsor] Dolphin swimmer.)

The Seattle Open is a meet that has been around for many, many years! These kids need this pool to swim in during the summer. It is one of two 50 meter pools in the area. It is after all long course season!

Well have it at the other 50 meter pool. Don’t take away the beauty that we only have for a limited amount of time from the public. The kids dont need it, they’re in the water swimming it doesnt matter about the surroundings for them. Let the people use it that actually come down there to enjoy the facility and the beautiful surrounds. It seems like whenever I actually want to go to Colman theres a damn swim meet. I say cut the tradition and go somewhere else!

Nice M. You steal my sign-in name and then you have to trash swimming. I swam at this meet many times, but it seemed to always be raining and cold when I was there.

If they went to Federal Way then it wouldn’t be the Seattle Open anymore. Besides, it sounds like we don’t need your attitude down at Colman anyway! Colman is the ONLY, ONLY outdoor 50 meter pool. It needs to be shared by everyone this side of the mountains! You should go down to Federal Way and swim at Weyerhauser pool and leave the happy people at Colman alone!

I did not steal anyones name. And never once did i trash swimming. I LOVE swimming. That’s why it would be nice not to have the swim meets down there. So I CAN swim.

Sorry, comment time is over.
