Another West Seattle centennial celebration: Villa Heidelberg

It bears saying again: With all the centennial celebrations in the past year or so, it’s clear something amazing was going on here on the peninsula in 1908-1909. Next to celebrate, Villa Heidelberg Bed and Breakfast this weekend, and you’re invited – we received this from KatieRose Oliver:

The Villa Heidelberg was built in 1909, and has been a Bed and Breakfast for several years, owned for the last 10 by Judy Burbrink. There will be an open house this Saturday, June 13, 2009 from 1-4pm. A cream tea will be served by the West Seattle Lions Club for a donation. Judy would also appreciate it if anyone with memorabilia, old photos etc., would bring them over to display.

Villa Heidelberg is at 4845 45th SW (map).

What ever happened to the West Seattle Historic Home Tour? It use to happen around Mother’s Day and was so much fun. There are some real gems in our area. Seems like a great time to get it going again!

We spent a week in December ’08 at “Villa” and celebrated our 50th anniversary during the 100 year snow storm there. It was perfect (even in the storms) and we couldn’t have found a better place to spend that wonderful event in our life.

Congratulations to Judy–we will be staying there again June 16– Sorry we will miss the party! L & L

Thanks for the info! VH is practically my neighbor and I’ve never been inside, so I’ll try to check out the open house.

Last year for my dad’s 90th birthday party, several of my relatives stayed at the VH! They absolutely loved the rooms, the breakfast, the view, and Judy! It’s wonderful to have a beautiful place for family who don’t want the hide-a-bed or air mattress!

Sorry, comment time is over.
