Welcoming a new WSB sponsor: Real-estate agent Roger Steiner

Today we’re welcoming the latest WSB sponsor, Roger Steiner. As always, we ask sponsors to share information you might like to know, and here’s more from Roger: He is a residential real estate agent with Coldwell Banker Danforth, and is dedicated to helping buyers in West Seattle have a great real estate experience. “We moved to West Seattle from the Central District in 2004, and I immediately fell in love. I grew up in Ketchum, Idaho, and I feel like West Seattle has this wonderful energy much like a little resort town. We’re surrounded by so much natural beauty, there’s a strong sense of community, and neighbors who truly care about one another- there’s so much to see and experience right here – and yet, if you want to do the big city thing, it’s literally right over there.” Prior to joining Coldwell Banker in 2008, Roger was an agent in the Belltown office of Windermere Wall Street. Although he has helped buyers and sellers all over Seattle, and does most of his business through friends and referrals, he hopes to expand his business by reaching out to folks who are considering buying in West Seattle. “I love working with buyers, especially first-time buyers, because it’s like solving a puzzle together- talking people through the process, helping them figure out what their priorities are, what is realistic for them, and then going on the big Treasure Hunt. And right now it’s great, because buyers get to be choosy, take their time, and negotiate. Combined with historically low interest rates, the market being tilted way in the buyer’s favor for a change, and the fact that the government is continuing to offer tax credit incentives to many buyers, for many folks it’s a perfect storm for buying, if you’re in a place to be considering it.” Contact Roger Steiner today if you’re considering a move, and let him know you saw his ad on WSB! (All our sponsors are listed here, where you can also find information on how to join them.)

Roger Steiner represented me in finding a great deal on a challenging multifamily investment property. Not only did he evaluate several sites in West Seattle that were exactly what I was looking for, you can trust him because his is very honest in his assessment (you have to appreciate that), extremely responsive, and communicates well.

I would have lost this deal if it weren’t for Roger, who managed the process while I was out of state. He kept in constant contact with all parties, suggested a price lower than what I would have, and made it easy.

I recommend him to all my friends, and wouldn’t use anyone else.

Roger Steiner worked with us to sell our house. After thorough research he priced the house perfectly and it sold within a few days. He’s professional, conscientious to details, and always looking out for the client’s best interest. I highly recommend working with Roger on any real estate deal.

My husband and I lived in a condo with our active toddler and felt for his sake, it was time to get a house with a yard. Roger helped us find a home that was so beautiful and well situated that we ended up in a bidding war over it even in this sluggish market. Roger helped us come up with an offer that sealed the deal, in spite of the fact that our competition was willing to pay even more than we were. We are so thrilled to be in our new home and really appreciate Roger’s help in getting us here.

Roger has taken the description of a “Realtor” and turned it into “Relator”, which is exactly what you need when you’re buying a home. He is an extremely good listener who hears what you want and then intuitively knows how to guide you to finding the perfect home. He’s a treasure as an agent and I have personally recommended him to many very happy homebuyers. You couldn’t ask for better! Sindy Todo

Roger sold my husband and I our first house in Madison Valley. He did a great job at listening to what we were looking for — and helped us to understand all of the paperwork and process required to purchase our home. Thanks to Roger, we’ve lived in a great house that we love for the past three years — I highly recommend him as a realtor!

Roger helped me buy my first home in Seattle. Within days of meeting Roger, he helped me locate a long list of homes that fit my specifications. Roger was very supportive, flexible, and responsive as I went from a “just casually looking” to “definitely want to buy” mode in just a week, and successfully got me through a 3-week close. In addition to being everything you could want in an agent, he is just a great guy to work with who kept me laughing through what we all know can be a very stressful experience!

Asking Roger to be our realtor when we decided we wanted to buy was a no brainer. He is really someone you can trust and he genuinely cares for his clients. At first we were “just looking” and we never ever felt pressured or rushed. Roger speaks our language (figuratively AND technically speaking!) and made the whole buying process really smooth also by providing good recommendations for financial and mortage contacts.
We have already recommended him to friends who successfully bought a place and were delighted with the recommendation!

Roger was awesome. He not only represented us well, but he’s also been our good friend and helped us indulge in some typical of us adventures, including helping on the cinematography of our Home Depot contest video. He was also very supportive and patient during the emotional roller coaster our homebuying process was.

We picked Roger in a non-traditional way too. We didn’t set out to do it this way, but we kind of went about the process all bass-ackwardsly. Jason and I can’t do anything without extensive research first, so we ended up finding the house during our “research” when we went open house touring to see where we would likely be able to afford. Roger was one of the agents representing a house we looked at. He was unlike most agents, who ask 100s of questions about your intentions, and oversell themselves and practically force feed you their business cards from the moment you open the door. I quickly learned to lie to those agents: “a family friend is going to be our agent!”

Roger, however was painting a room for his seller when we arrived, and let us check out the place rather than stalking us from room to room. He was laid-back, but very professional and let us take our time. When we were done, we had a normal, human conversation, not the typical “let me force feed myself to you” exchange that happened everywhere else, which usually made you feel like fish food in the aquarium of real estate which seems to happen in a buyer’s market.

He also was honest when we interviewed him: he admitted that he doesn’t know everything there is to know, and mentioned that he was willing to do his homework when those situations arose. And they did several times in our transaction. Within hours almost, Roger would tap the knowledgable resources of his office and would come back prepared with the knowledge he needed. For instance, we asked the seller to help with the down-payment via Neihmiah (sp?), which he hadn’t used before, but very quickly learned the ins and outs of.

We highly recommend working with Roger!!!
