Amanda Knox’s sisters: TV interview … in Lincoln Park

Saw this on TV last night, just found the link. Perhaps one of the most scenic interviews ever — Amanda Knox‘s sisters talked with KING5, mostly on the beach at Lincoln Park (the family lives in Arbor Heights). Text and video here; Knox’s trial in Italy is set to start Friday.

For anyone who is interested in the facts behind the media spin, and who cares to learn more about the victim of this terrible murder – Meredith Kercher – there is an excellent discussion board

as well as an interesting blog

These online resources are not for profit. Anyone can read and/or participate and people from around the world do. They have followed this case since last November, and are in no way related to Amanda Knox. Nor are they her friends

And for those that would like to donate to Amanda’s defense since her family is spending all of their savings on this case here is the site:

Interesting read/links….This quote caught my eye in regards to the Seattle P.I…

“Reader blogs are a mortal cancer right at the heart of the newspaper.

All over the US they are lowering the tone of newspaper websites, and taking readership and work away from journalists who are paid to know what they are talking about.”

Well, if they’re talking about those specific ones in the P-I “reader blog” section – I’ve never been sure why any newspapers bother hosting those, nor why the writers don’t just have their own sites.
I should make my distinction first, I’m talking about personal/opinion blog-format sites, written by nonprofessionals, not a site like ours, which is an independent, commercial community-news site, run by journalists, published in blog format.
Anyway: Everyone who wants to publish a personal-interest blog-format site can easily do it themselves. You’d be crazy not to. If you have a newspaper (or anyone else) host it, all you’re doing is generating money for them. And you have no control over the publishing format, nor in the fact that you could be getting search traffic directly to your site (especially if you are writing a blog-format site because you are promoting a business or some other cause). If you’re good, people will find you, and link to you – you don’t have to be partnered with something bigger to get launched.
There’s a discussion under way on Twitter right now about what happens to the amateur “reader blogs” that are published by the P-I if/when it completely goes away – do those folks get to take their content? A few have become quite popular.

To the family of Amanda Knox: PLEASE contact me in regard to Amanda Knox’s trial. I speak fluent Italian and lived 12 years in Italy. Maybe I can help in some way. I know lawyers there and understand the mentality of the Italian people. It is PATHETIC AND SICKENING that this young, innocent girl is STILL in jail. This the prime of her life.

Sorry, comment time is over.
