2 bus notes: Sound Transit changes, Metro fare increase reminder

SOUND TRANSIT: Route 560, which includes West Seattle, is one of the routes with changes to come, in part because of ST light rail, so a public-comment meeting has just been set for Feb. 25, 5-7 pm, Senior Center of West Seattle in The Junction. Read more about it here.

METRO RATE INCREASE: This Sunday is the day that Metro Transit fares go up a quarter. See the new fare schedule in its entirety here.

Depending on where you live, the bus is becoming a less viable mode of transport for saving money.

I suppose that’s true if you received your car for free and don’t have to pay for maintenance. I don’t drive any more but I could ride the bus for the next twenty years and not spend close to what I’ve spent on cars in the last ten.

So does anyone know… I can’t figure it out or see on the metro site…. if I have an annual $2.00 pass and the fare now goes to 2.25, will they honor my annual peak one zone pass all year as in the past or no?

    thanks! cleat
