Remembering longtime West Seattleite Josephine Mahon

Though we don’t have an official “obituaries” section right now, once in a while somebody sends us one. In this case, James Mahon e-mailed WSB to say his mom died this week and “as a West Seattle resident for over 50 years, she should probably get a notice posted in your blog.” Services for 81-year-old Josephine Mahon are planned on Friday – read on for the obituary and photo sent by her son:

Josephine M. (Hladik) Mahon 11-26-27 – 12-07-08

Jo Mahon lit up any room she was in. Her style and forceful personality made every event she attended very special. I knew her thru several organizations, Senior Center of West Seattle, West Seattle Democratic Women, Mt. St Vincent, Red Hatters, The Log House Museum, and more. I’m so glad she was my friend, and I will miss her deeply.
