4 West Seattle girls in Seattle’s legendary “Nutcracker”

It’s the city’s best-known holiday show – and Lynn Ogdon just e-mailed WSB this photo to let us know about four West Seattle girls featured in the Pacific Northwest Ballet production of “The Nutcracker” (which opened tonight and is celebrating its 25th anniversary): Left to right, as Lynn lists them: Katie (“Chinese”), Flynn (“Small Servant”), Jelly (“Tall Servant”), and Lisel (“Prologue Nutcracker”).

Is her name actually Jelly? …or did you mean Kelly?

That’s exactly as it came to us. However, we have a note out to doublecheck. (Postscript – We confirmed; it’s correct.)

Actually you missed Carlin who is staring, playing Clara. Carlin is the daughter of my daughter’s piana teacher.

Thanks! I’d imagine it’s a big cast, and we are quite appreciative to Lynn for sending us that photo and info, and for anybody else with something to add – I don’t know if PNWB sends out community-specific news releases but we’ll check with their PR department to be on the list for the future!

Yes, we do send out community-specific news releases, when we can fit it into our crazy schedule – I always try to do so for “Nutcracker,” since there are so many kids in the production, but I usually just send them to the community papers – I forgot about the mighty West Seattle Blog! Give me a call and I will get your particulars to contact when I have WS-specific dancers to feature. Thanks for the plug!
(And yes, Jelly is correct, although it’s a nickname – her real name is Apisara.)

This is one of the reasons I love WSB! I don’t have kids, but I love the sense of connection in finding out who from the neighborhood is doing what. Thanks to WSB – and the community member who sent this in.

We enjoyed seeing our daughter’s Apisara,(Jelly),
picture. Could you inform me what newspaper it was in. We would like to buy a few issues.Thank you.

Hi, Frank! Sorry, we don’t have a newspaper component – West Seattle Blog is West Seattle’s only comprehensive daily news source, publishing new reports, photos and video 7 days a week, and we’re 100 percent online. The photo was provided to us by Lynn, who we mentioned in the short report above.
