West Seattle food ‘n’ drink updates: Feedback Lounge, Bohemian

Feedback Lounge, you may recall, is what’s in progress at the old Beveridge Place Pub space in Morgan Junction, next to the ex-Corner Inn/future Zeeks Pizza space. Just found this new MySpace blog update from its proprietors, saying they’re still targeting January for opening, and that they’ve hired “99%” of their staff.

Meantime, in the “recently opened” department, The Bohemian has updates to share. When we heard they’d launched live music, we asked them to let us know as soon as there were specific listings on The Bohemian’s website – and word just came in, those listings are up now; see them here, with details on some of the regular musicians and other artists here. Jason and Terri tell us they’re also launching Jazz Sunday Brunch on November 9th, 10 am-3 pm, with “daytime lunches” soon to follow.

COMING UP: New information about Fresh Bistro, the restaurant that’ll be a big part of the ground floor of Mural, the Harbor Properties project across from Jefferson Square.

I’m sad to hear that the Bohemian is starting to have live music – the acoustics in there are so terrible that it’s already nearly impossible to have a conversation. I can’t imagine how bad it will be with live jazz! It’s a shame – the food and drinks are quite good and I had hoped that once they smoothed out their service issues it would be a pleasant dinner place.

I agree about the acoustics. We didn’t stay because it was really noisy. Since I live so close, I will probably go for wine on the quieter afternoons. Perhaps they could carpet, or do something to the ceiling to absorb the sound? I hope so – I love it otherwise!

    Hi there Ladies…

I appreciate your comments and we are already in the works to add acoustic tiles to the ceiling…
We are also keeping the live music to a very minimal level during supper hours (6-10pm)…such as a solo guitar or pianist…our full jazz trio arrangements won’t start until 9pm at the earliest and go on ’til 11pm. Thank you for your constructive criticisms as we are VERY them and to wish to improve every aspect of our business to the needs of our guests!
Hope to see you in again…

I have to say that I’ve been somewhat turned away by the Bohemian since the the big storm several weeks ago. It may sound silly but I think restaurants should only close when its absolutely necessary and all the other restaurants in the area were open. It just seems like a bad foot for a brand new establishment to start off on. Especially when the owners live in West Seattle. They missed out on a huge weekend and now people feel they can’t rely on the space to be open and will automatically be looking for another venue. The place next door was PACKED all weekend. We ate at the Bohemian once and the food was wonderful but all too heavy to eat there on a regular basis. Hopefully they will pump out some lighter dinner selections before spring and summer!

Sorry, comment time is over.
