Welcoming a new WSB sponsor: CheapWineStore.com

We first mentioned West Seattle-based CheapWineStore.com when its liquor-license application went in last December (WSB report here), and now that it’s up and running, it’s collinsphoto.jpgjoined the WSB sponsor team to get the word out. Here’s what its owner (photo left) wants you to know about the business: “Patrick Collins, a fellow West Seattleite, has launched a new online wine store, CheapWineStore.com. It has been created for the person who enjoys a great wine at reasonable prices, but is also interested in trying something new. CheapWineStore.com was created for the fun, unique wine drinker who enjoys trying new wines, but doesn’t really want to pay an arm and a leg for it. CheapWineStore.com will feature more than 10,000 different labels – from organic, to Washington wines, as well as ports and fine wines from all over the world. They are also offering free delivery in West Seattle for orders over $100. Patrick’s motto is: “Try something different–it’s just wine!” Patrick Collins, owner of CheapWineStore, is like many other West Seattleites. That is, he believes in giving back to his community. Therefore, Patrick also volunteers much of his time to many local charities including Northwest Harvest, the American Cancer Society, the Son Rise House and is donating a portion of the proceeds from every sale to our local animal shelter, the Animals First Foundation.” Thanks to CheapWineStore.com and all our sponsors for choosing to grow their businesses by advertising on WSB to let you know what they’re offering; our Advertise on WSB page is where you can see the latest on our traffic, plus the full list of current sponsors and how to find out about joining them.

Patrick — You should ad a cheap wine store blog to your site. It would be a great addition to the site as it would break down barriers even further by showing a human face/guide to the wines you have available.

    Just a thought …

Damn, I’m just full of ideas today.

Is there a storefront? It seems inefficient to have the mail deliver something so close

The more wine the merrier, but don’t forget about good old West Seattle Cellars for wine needs this side of the Duwamish. I’m a huge fan of this little shop — and besides offering impeccable advice, they also host free wine tastings on Thursdays. The more down-to-earth wine outlets around, the better, but I did want to plug the West Seattle Cellars for your wine-purchasing needs in the physical world!

Hooray for CheapWineStore.com! Can’t wait to place my first order. FYI, the storefront is coming soon (when, Patrick?) to the ActivSpace building on Harbor Avenue just off the West Seattle Bridge.

    Cheers…

Sage, they are certainly welcome to sponsor us too :) We obviously write about many, many more local businesses than are or have ever been in the sponsorship roster; just check the archives in the categories list on the right sidebar. And we have featured WSC’s events in our events calendar when we get notes about them. But without sponsors, we wouldn’t be able to be doing what we’re doing (same as any commercial news site – newspaper, tv, radio), so that’s why there’s a special shoutout like this when somebody new comes onboard.

I am totally quitting my current wine club and signing up with cheapwine.com. It will be nice to buy on a local level!

Thank you all for your encouragement! The wine delivery in West Seattle will be done by yours truly and my trusty sidekick, my brother. We are looking forward to opening a storefront too in the Activspace building on Harbor Ave next month.
Cheers! Oh, and the blog is http://cheapwinestore.wordpress.com/

All good but Shipping & Handling: $12.31 fro a $6 bottle of wine? Hell I could make and bottle it myself for that. By the way I am starting a shipping company where I will get you a cheap bottle from Safeway and only charge you $10.00 shipping in WS.

Hey I heard about you guys on KOMO News. It sounds like a really cool store – with so many wines under $10. I love supporting West Seattle shops anyway!

Sorry, comment time is over.
