Checked your doorstep this morning? Your home might be among those randomly chosen by a group of “art attackers” who got together late last night to create and distribute whimsical homemade recycled-items art, like what’s shown above, and to the left. If this sounds familiar – they took inspiration from “West Seattle Art Attack,” whose secret surprise missions were chronicled here last year, but it’s a whole different group of people – read on for more pix and info:

It was a festive atmosphere, maybe something like Santa’s workshop, when we dropped by the semi-secret location where the “art attackers” were using materials like those to make creations like this:

They shared snacks, materials, laughs; somebody’s dog roamed around trying to make friends; finished pieces waited to be gathered up when the “art attackers” fanned out to find homes for their work.

More than a few birdhouses, like this one with colorful marbles inside:

The preprinted note left with each creation ends with the declaration, “Art is good for you.” The group we met last night clearly had a good time crafting and delivering it; for those who find the special deliveries, they’re hoping the feeling will be mutual.
