Two city traffic alerts that might be of interest

Not in West Seattle but one’s along a popular route (1st Ave S) and the other’s for a variety of events you might encounter elsewhere in the city this weekend:

First alert from SDOT – paving work about to start on 1st Avenue S:

The first phase of the 1st Ave S Paving Project starts next week, the week of May 19. The work will begin in the south end between E Marginal Way and S Hudson St. The road may be reduced to one lane in each direction at times and parking will be impacted. Work will be taking place both north and southbound for the first two months, May – July, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

Second alert, also from SDOT, on behalf of a huge list of events that might affect traffic elsewhere in the city this weekend:

Residents will have many activities to choose from this
weekend as events are occurring across the city, ranging from street
fairs to parades and from fun runs to a cheese festival. The Seattle
